If you're in college, start here: http://www.isep.org/ ISEP (the International Student Exchange Program) is widely reputed, and even if you end up not participating in it, the website has a lot of information to offer about the processes involved in studying abroad. In any case, your school would be the best place to start for information, regardless of your age. They should have all the information you need regarding classes and credits, and they can probably point you in the direction of international programs you can apply to. Try setting up a meeting with your counselor or advisor. Good luck!
